Assembly themeInterviews are the tool used in today's plenary session to help distill thinking on the theme. A panel is asked to reflect on the theme's various dimensions - transforming the world, the earth, our societies, our churches, our lives, and our witness - from their own contexts, and from their experiences during the Assembly. The plenary listens to a first reading of the message to be issued by the Assembly, the WCC's supreme governing body. For more information, please see:
Spiritual lifeToday's worship centres on the prayer, "God, in your grace, transform our lives". The Bible readings (Ezekiel 27: 1-12) and John 4: 1-42 are about water, which is also today's worship symbol; Jesus, who taught in parables, described the redemption he offered as "a spring of water gushing up to eternal life" (John 4:14).
