The ecumenical conversations begin

Delegates and youth met in 22 ecumenical conversations around the campus Thursday.

A total of 22 ecumenical conversations will take place at the 9th Assembly over a three-day period, beginning 16 Feb. and concluding 18 Feb. Hundreds of delegates and youth will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue on a variety of subjects, including mission, interreligious dialogue, political and social issues, and other items of ecumenical concern.

As part of the commitment to open spaces for youth at the Assembly, all youth - delegates or not - are invited to participate fully in the discussions.

The conversations do not produce official actions themselves, but the major ideas developed in each will be fed to the respective WCC committees working on the issues.
